Angela Byne
Dip Pilates Institute  Mem.SMA

I have worked within the fitness Industry for the last 18 years. Initially as an Instructor to Music, an aerobic instructor. I am a qualified Personal Trainer and I have studied Sports Nutrition. I qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist with the Welsh Institute of Sport 13 years ago. I have since furthered my training with the London College of Sports Massage in order to achieve my Remedial Qualification. I currently, have for the last 10 years, run a Sports Massage Therapy Clinic at The Pavilion Health Club in East Molesey, Near Hampton Court.

My training to teach Pilates was with the Pilates Institute in London. This is a modular course, run by Michael King.  As it is a modular system the training is ongoing. www.pilates_institute.co.uk

I teach Matwork Pilates, but I am also qualfied in One to One (personal training) the Intermediate and Advanced Matwork modules and the Remedial course, which enables me to work with Physiotherapist’s referrals. I have some training in the equipment with the Wunda Chair and Spine corrector, two of the smaller pieces of equipment. I still have to complete the bigger equipment, the Cadillac and the Reformer. These I plan to do this year.

I have worked with the Golf Pro at Worplesdon Golf Club. Golf and Pilates has become very highly recognised and all the top players take advise on core stability and how this strength can improve their game. I have written an article on how Pilates can help your Golf, see www.premiumgolf.co.uk. I also work quite closely with cyclists, as many have seen how all the professional cyclists invest in Sports maggage to help them recover from long rides.

My work is a combination of massage, Pilates Personal Training, and Pilates Classes. Both compliment one another brilliantly. I have seen the benefits Pilates can bring to your overall fitness and well being. It provides balance to our bodies like no other form of exercise. There is also a place for Sports Massage , a very deep form of massage this helps relax and stretch areas that Pilates may not be so effective in.
